Except for the first time (2020: Thanks, Train Dave!) taking the GGR travel team on the road to visit Black Men Run, I’ve basically been the solo representative. There weren’t a lot of people keeping the club moving just before and during the COVID Twenties. For the GGR’s 4th run with the BMR Philly club, variations o’Jason & Jim comprised the travel team with me. One of my take aways is that you’re not supposed to smile for pictures. Who knew? I do like the look of gravitas; still, next time I’ll have to ask why. They smiled a lot more when we actually ran.
The lack of regulars and rituals to keep the club stable meant that I was kind of concerned about folks on the home team to welcome newcomers back at JRC. Knowing that there are now enough to staff both home and travel teams means that there is no longer a concern that a deputy would fail to show and do everything necessary back there.
A picture for each team’s attendance means that I was actually right. So I present for the record: Growlers Group Run’s home and travel teams. Yay for representation!
