The Shawmonter spied a keyring on the street corner and did some thinking: The key on it belonged to a late model luxury car. Maybe someone dropped it waiting for the bus? Maybe. Would they look for it and even manage to look there and find it? Maybe. Could a dealership find the owner in its database? For sure. He picked it up with the plan to bring it to one.
As he continued, he spied a woman pushing a baby carriage in the distance. Could she have dropped it? Maybe. Should he interrupt her phone conversation? Maybe. As he passed, he did, by waving the keyring for her to see. “Oh, my God,” she mouthed, still in conversation. He passed it her way and then continued on his.
