• Travel Team goes it alone •

As has been the Growlers’ practice for the last bunch of years, the traveling team went down to Lloyd Hall, Boathouse Row to join Black Men Run Philadelphia (iCandybyWangC.com and elsewhere unless otherwise specified).

Home Team convened at the usual Jenkintown Running Company location and 6:30 p.m. time (RunORC.com). They did the usual Sunset 5K route forward and sent the usual picture. Thanks, Stacey! Disappointing was the unusual decision to bail on the overrun (“Run Report” [Facebook.com]). The fact that we travelers wouldn’t be joining for a half hour might have been a discouraging factor.
Travel Team convened 45 minutes earlier and hopped into Jim-var’s car for the ride to Lloyd Hall, the recreational building at Philadelphia Art Museum’s end of Boathouse Row along Kelly Drive (Google Maps). Thanks, Jim!

I did my usual task of learning everyone’s names. The fact that we travelers have been going down since 2020 might have been an encouraging factor. It makes learning them worthwhile and remembering them easier. Writing notes on the phone helps.
Jay-var, Jim-var, and me, CtCloser, did Toilet Route with the bunch of them. The name isn’t mine! Apparently co-vice-captain Leroy and I think similarly (Submarine Route).
As for the overrun, BMR doesn’t do that kind of thing, so we 3 headed back to Jenkintown and overran at the usual Human Robot (HumanRobotJenkintown.com). Without the home team runners.
