Stroller and I were on our way down Forbidden Drive when he yelled out to the young runner approaching from the other direction, “Hi, James!” “Hey!” James yelled back. “That’s my bathroom buddy,” he explained to me, “but he doesn’t know I call him that.” They had met on Strava. “I always manage to see him waiting in the bathroom line at a marathon: Boston, Chicago, New York.”
“With all those people, what are the chances you’d see anyone you know; but there we always seem to be.” Stroller is a mighty runner, despite the ostensibly contradictory new tag (He occasionally races by pushing differently abled competitors in running strollers.). Still, when the other runner is finishing 2:30 marathons, he at least sees him once.
