SteVath did his first run with the crew just 3 weeks before this writing. He’d been doing a lot of cycling before that. All of a sudden he had a 3-week streak going. As he headed out with his ebike last week (probably Not what he’s been using for his cycling), he admitted that running with GGR was a lot more fun than cycling. Sucked into GGR’s vortex.
On a few competitive notes, Li (5:55:39) and Yuki (5:12:56) did their first marathon in Honolulu (08’U) just 7 months after they started running. They’d been doing a lot of lounging before that. All of a sudden they had a mileage streak going and then Boston Half Marathon (11’23’S) and Honolulu gone. AndEss (05:34:51) and Sylvia (both at Philly, 11’24’U) joined them at GGR also to make their training a lot more fun over the last bunch of months. Sucked into GGR’s vortex.
Groups change all the time and the folks that were regulars both years ago and not so long ago aren’t anymore. Others have taken their place, even as I did for some other back in 2013. Sucked as recent runners have been into GGR’s vortex, time will tell how long they stay in the maelstrom of its very existence or if they successfully defy its virtual inexorability. We’ll be happy for their presence, regardless of the duration.
