The group seemed small when 4 of us Growlers met last week at Bill’s Best for WWW, but it happens; so off we ran toward JRC. When we got there and checked in with JRC Nicole, we discovered that a boatload of Growlers had met there as usual, not having caught the detail about the new start location. It’s not a foreign experience to start from Bill’s and do that route, we’ve already done it a handful of times, but anyone can succumb to habit and make the wrong assumptions about a given week, especially newbies.
As it turns out, Deputy A.A.Ron was among the group members there who was able to introduce the noobs to the (Murder Hill) Submarine Route (after a few weeks of the usual S5K both forward and in reverse). Just as we Bill’s Best beginners prepared to return, the Sub Route runners arrived from their effort. Everyone who could finish up at Bill’s, did, to eat Mexican from food-truck El Toro Serrano and throw back beers.
Plans—even as routine as for a Growlers Group Run—can sometimes go a little awry. No problem! It opens the door to being appreciative of those around who can roll with the little bumps. Thanks, A.A.Ron! It all came together at just the right time. Great!
