Masterful Photography Because of Technology (#211: 2023’06’21’W)

Laughing because we can

[1 MIN READ]

One of the traditions of JRC’s GGR is the weekly attendance photo. Sometimes it’s purely functional and not necessarily creative. Other times, especially thanks to digital technology, it can be functional, clever, and amusing. At least in my opinion.

Take last week’s shot(s) that I composited using my favorite image-editing tool: Microsoft Paint. Go ahead, make fun of me. (More than one Growler has. I can take it.) Adobe Photoshop? Sure, I could; but that’s a lot of work. And a lot of money for the license. The simplistic capabilities of Paint permits a creativity that would be ridiculous for Photoshop. A lot less work for a lot more amusement.

Another run pic that employs the best of digital technology

Why even bother, though? Wouldn’t 2 separate photos suffice? Well, sure, but where’s the fun in that? Image-editing technology has allowed people all over the World Wide Web to show off their amazing stuff. There’s hardly a point trying to compete. Instead, the Growlers will take their running and I the attendance photography in the unique directions that befit a unique group.
