Opposites Attract (#231: 2023’11’15’W)

East Coast met West and West Coast met East

[1 MIN READ]

Back a few years ago, I was visiting SoCal and hanging around long enough during marathon-training season to want to find a running group around Torrance where my fraternal twin lives. In the process, I found Village Runner Running Club (CER#113) and did a few runs with them. Last week, SoCal had a chance to visit Montco and hang around long enough to want to find a running group around Warrington where their office twin lives.

Members of VRRC go out for a brew and a bite after every week’s effort, so I got to know a few of them when I joined. Last week, SoCal had a chance to do the same with us at Human Robot. Sure, Alisa Viejo CA isn’t actually close enough to Redondo Beach for Rudder Bunny to even drive there for one of the outings; still it felt pretty cool to be able to flip and superimpose circumstances between us.

Rudder Bunny assured us that he’d hit us up again if visits to Warrington permitted. My comment was that there was no guarantee it would be a WWW for us to go out together. GGR Jason did me better by offering that we could always make an outing of the post-run if it wasn’t a 3rd Wednesday. Mind blown. Another option is that we can just move toward finishing every GGR with an outing like VRRC does. Coastal convergence.
