So We Agree? (#138: ZY Weekly Newsletter 10/7/23)

It’s bound to happen sometimes

[1 MIN READ]

A few intrepids appeared below the Northwestern Ave horse stables for the past 10’07’S SRC run, despite the rainy forecast. In actuality, there was no rain and the few that convened couldn’t resist remarking: “It was supposed to rain, right? Nothing’s happening now at least.” Agreed.

The few got going and the weather turned out to be remarkably accommodating. When they got to Valley Green Inn the appreciative comments began again: “It’s good we came out. We at least get credit for showing up, which is more than can be said for the last rainy forecast.” Agreed.

When they got to the 5-mile mark past the stone bridge, it was time to make some decisions. A bunch had planned to return for 10, but one had planned for 18 that would have to be 13 miles solo from that point on. Of course, that person could return back on the trail with the others for 10 with company and then add on for only 8 more miles solo. But then, what was the likelihood that solo runner would want to get going again once everyone got back to the trail head? Definitely less than just continuing on, even if it was without company. Agreed.

So that’s what the solo runner did.
