Telling Your Story (#135: ZY Weekly Newsletter 9/2/23)

Even when you don’t think you’re a writer

[1 MIN READ]

For a number of years after he couldn’t get to the trail the way he wanted to, zen yanni gave the job of writing the Ruminations for each Run Report to some of us others who were willing to contribute. Run Anon did his share. I’ve done my own, as have OKhen and KayCee.

I’ve also invited other people to share some of their ruminations. The response has consistently been, Oh, I’m not a good writer. Then a new idea arose: Ask people to tell me a running story. I’ll make a go of telling of it, ALWAYS with permission. So thanks to Jimmy for okaying his about getting goosed. SRC-ers who run with me have already been saying for a while, Watch out, this is going to get into one of CtCloser’s Ruminations. Sometimes that’s true, sometimes it’s not. With this new strategy, I may well ask you pointedly for something to share.

Note, I will always share something you convey with your explicit permission. We know that running is really cheap therapy and the trail is an important place to confide with each other. This is one of the realities that zy thought was so amazing about SRC. Having someone blabbing indiscriminately about something intended for privacy would be a real downer, to say the least. With all that said, plan on saving up stuff to share, hey?
