• Who’s honking? •
[½ MIN READ]
I’ve complained about others sharing the trail with us (I Couldn’t Say), but sometimes the sharing problem is with us aggressive trail users. Jimmy Dee shared about a time a bunch of years ago when he was the one. JIMMY DEE?! Do you believe it? (Yes, shared with his permission!)
It was spring when the kids were out. Milesman Hal told him to stay clear of the Canadian goose families. Jimmy might even have said out loud, “Come on, they’re birds. What are they going to do?” and plowed right down the middle of one family. A moment later he was waving off the goose nipping at his ear. Suffice to say that was the one and only time he did that.
It was a good warning anecdote to hear as we steered clear this past spring. (BTW, what other trail users honk that we have to worry about?).
