Compare and contrast

[1 MIN READ]

This was the traveling team’s 4th visit to Black Men Run Philadelphia this year. And the running club down at Lloyd Hall was plenty pleased to have us join.

BMR does community in ways that are similar to GGR and in ways that are different. One similarity is the attendance photo. One difference is the additional attendance photos…and videos.

Another similarity is the welcoming nature. A difference is how much publicizing they do…and how. Instagram is their service of choice, where they post all their pictures and videos. In fact, they wanted to hashtag our Instagram handle…but we don’t have one. It might be time to change that.

Like us, they stop occasionally to make sure no one gets left behind. Unlike us, they have run “marshalls” to monitor traffic conditions and help make sure no one gets squashed. (Philadelphia streets can be pretty busy.)

The biggest unlike is their lack of a WWW equivalent. You win some, you lose some. In 2025, there will be 5 possible visits from GGR to BMR…to enjoy all the winningness.
